WHAT: Village council meetings Dec. 20 and Tuesday
PRESENT: Ray Lewis, Kyles Joynes, Chad Jones, Sean Schmidt, John Metzinger and Mayor Marty Puckett

Council:
• Heard from fire Chief Fred Marcum that the village has had 492 calls so far in 2023. He said he is seeking American Rescue Plan funds for an automated external defibrillator, and other grants for fire department needs. Marcum said work also is being done to update the fire chief's office and the kitchen floor.
• Approved entering into a cooperative agreement with Wildland Fire Suppression of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, which will help to seek grant money for the fire department.
• Amended the municipal income tax ordinance to comply with the state that no one under 18 be required to pay income tax effective Jan. 1.
• Heard from Marcum of discussions held to replace a firetruck that is 32 years old.
• Set the organizational meeting for 6 p.m. Jan. 3 in the community room where the swearing-in of Ray Lewis as the new mayor will be. Committee meetings will be held at 6 p.m. Jan 17.
