WHAT: Village council meeting Monday
PRESENT: Robert Bond, Terry Campbell, Lamar Liming, Jamie Moseley, Ron Radtka, Howard Sheely and Mayor Arno Hill
Council:
• Recognized Hill for his 24 years of service as mayor and six years on council, and Radtka for his 12 years on council. Both leave public office at the end of the year. Hill and Radtka said it was an honor to serve the village.
• Heard from Planning / Zoning Administrator Kellie Bordner of a request by Clean Energy LLC for rezoning 34.7 acres of property from residential to industrial. The village planning commission again heard the request and notified council.
• Swore in Jackie Woodward as the new mayor starting Jan. 1.
• Accepted a quote from Best Truck Equipment of Painesville for an aluminum service body with lighted rack and receiver hitch at $15,225.
• Approved a zoning map reclassifying three parcels of land off Pritchard Ohltown Road from business to residential. The parcels are 2.5 acres, 2.5 acres and 5 acres, and owned by Imperial Communities and Ron and Cynthia Radtka. Plans are to build a house on the property.
• Hired and installed Shane Smith as a new police officer, which will fill the department's staff. Smith previously had served in Vienna.
• Applied for a grant from the Trumbull-Geauga Solid Waste Management District. Council should find out in January if the grant was received.
