WHAT: Trustees meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: Fred Hanley, Rick Hernandez and William Colletta
Trustees:
• Reported there were no sealed bids for the township surplus equipment. Trustees made a motion to reduce the reserve cruiser to $6,000, another cruiser to $2,000, and a backhoe will be scrapped.
• Will advertise for the restroom renovation project at the administration building.
• Heard from Hernandez the Eagle Joint Fire District has begun the process to ensure the district has proper staffing. Two ambulances have been ordered and may take up to 15 months to be received.
• Heard from Hanley the township applied for a MORE (Managing Ohio Risk Exposures) Grant, for the road, bridge and police divisions. A grant application was made through the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation for four personal voltage detectors for the road division.
• Met on road striping in the township and with Trumbull County Engineer Randy Smith about what the county does. The process is very costly with liability involved, officials said.
• Approved filing a Public Utilities Commission of Ohio complaint against Ohio Edison for a crushed culvert at the corner of Creed Street and John White Road.
• Reminded residents they need to pump septic tanks in Maplewood 1&2 districts yearly with receipts turned into the township. This is until the new sewage system is in place.
• Reported the SCOPE senior center will open in 2024 providing daily functions in the center for township and city residents. The cost will be split between Hubbard Township and Hubbard city.
• Reported the proposed $210,000 award for the salt dome has been rejected because of the county commissioners' misunderstanding of allocating the funds.
• Announced the Ohio Public Works Commission grant for road paving has failed. Trustees will need to discuss which roads will be paved.
