WHAT: Board of Education meeting Monday
PRESENT: Russell Sewell, Tim Gibson, Karen Ancell, Bradley Gamlin and Gary Morton
The board:
• Approved purchase of a 78-passenger school bus chassis and body from Myers Equipment at $128,415.
• Announced the official naming and dedication for the dedication of Al Lopez Gymnasium at 6 p.m. Friday. Lopez is being honored for his service as a teacher, superintendent and coach for the district.
• Set the organizational meeting for 5:30 p.m. Jan. 8 followed by the budget hearing and regular meeting at the complex band room.
• Announced the annual LaBrae Hall of Fame will host induction of 2023 members at 6 p.m. Dec. 22 at the high school.
• Approved Gardiner for HVAC improvements at the LaBrae complex as part of the Ohio School Council Consortium purchasing cooperative, with chiller replacement at $288,780 and chiller controller upgrade at $20,000.
• Received a $3,000 donation from Life Church to be used for covering incurred 2023-24 student lunch debt.
