WHAT: Township trustees meeting Monday
PRESENT: Mark Ferrara, Shannon Devitz and Dan Suttles
Trustees:
• Administered the oath of office to Devitz, who won in the November election. Last year, she had been appointed to fill the seat of Ron Haun, who moved to Florida.
• Announced Jingle and Mingle on the Green will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the gazebo at the township center green.
• Hired Eric Ginn as a part-time firefighter / paramedic at $17 per hour.
• Hired Eugene McCarthy as a volunteer firefighter.
• Hired Krysta Wedge as a part-time police officer.
• Heard from Suttles of costs involved with indigent burials for those individuals who have no family members. Officials said one to two such burials take place per year.
• Heard from Road Supervisor Jamie Fredenburg who said a driver who went through a stop sign on state Route 82 in Vienna hit one of the township pickup trucks and caused damage. There were no injuries.
• Heard from Fredenburg of plans for paving a section of state Route 7 from Wood Street north in 2025 and paving Addison Road in 2024.
• Were informed the maintenance building was cleaned and prepped for winter.
• Set the year-end meeting for 6 p.m. Dec. 28.
