CHAMPION --The Champion Police Department is investigating an incident where a person was hit by a vehicle Wednesday evening and the driver leaving the scene.
The police department reported it received a call of a person struck by a vehicle off Mahoning Avenue in the area near Sparkle Market and Dollar General.
The person received minor injuries, according to a post by the police department.
A 911 spokesperson indicated the person, who was hit after dark, was reported taken by a vehicle from the scene.
Champion police indicate the driver of the suspected vehicle left the scene heading south on Mahoning Avenue.
The vehicle is described as a dark colored, small- to mid-sized SUV.
