WHAT: City council meeting Monday
PRESENT: Reynald Paolone, Thomas Grumley, Jeff Kay, Mark Standohar, Lily Martuccio, Keith Schubert, John Moliterno and Sam Zirafi

Council:
• Heard from Safety Service Director Jerry Lambert that the city is working on a new contract with Republic Waste Services for garbage collection. He said efforts are to get the contract completed by end of year. The city is planning to seek bids for garbage and refuse collection.
• Heard from Grumley of trash being on the curbside for three weeks in neighborhoods throughout parts of the city. Council tabled the motion on the policy and procedure manual until 2024.
• Approved submitting a list of properties in the city to the Trumbull Land Reutilization Corp. for making an application building demolition and site revitalization and removing unsafe and abandoned structures. The vacant homes list was sent to the Trumbull Combined Health District to be declared unfit.
• Heard from Grumley the policy book is being reviewed and updated.
• Gave second reading to an anti-nepotism policy that elected officials and department heads can't hire direct relatives. Standohar said the policy falls in line with general provisions of state standards and Ohio Ethics laws.
• Scheduled a meeting on finances for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 27.
• Canceled the second meeting in December, which falls on Christmas.
