WHAT: Township trustees meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: Aaron Young, Todd Garland and Jeff Tucker
Trustees:
• Are reviewing eight applications received for a full-time road department employee. A selection will be made at a future meeting.
• Approved removing the requirement that emergency medical technicians also must have fire training in order to get more EMTs for the fire department.
• Hired Robert Murphy as a police officer at $16 per hour and Michael Pense as a cadet officer at no pay.
• Approved Drescher Associates at $2,950 for surveying work to determine if residents installed fencing on township property.
• Purchased a Freightliner truck at $201,396 to replace a 2006 dump truck;
• Reported the Braceville Community Foundation will meet 2 p.m. Sunday at township hall to discuss what items to store in the planned historical museum to be located at the former Ernie Shavers' home. Trumbull County commissioners have approved a $264,000 request from the foundation's effort to create an African American Community History museum through a collaboration with the Trumbull County Historical Society.
• Will have 15 properties submitted to the Trumbull Land Bank for possible demolition.
• Announced annual turkey raffle will be 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at fire department.
• Set a public hearing for 6 p.m. Nov. 21 for property owners at 3366 Eagle Creek Road regarding demolition of property at the location.
• Have previously met with Newton Falls officials regarding annexation of township property into the village.
