WARREN -- A Trumbull County grand jury indicted a 19-year-old Warren man Thursday in connection with the shooting death of Ruby Sanchez inside her Hampshire House apartment.
Jamarr Jenkins, of Kenmore Avenue SE, is facing felony charges of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and child endangering.
The charges are related to Sanchez's March 27 killing. She was shot about 1 a.m. inside her apartment on 5th Street SW in Warren, according to a police report.
The report states officers responded to the apartment complex after a tenant reported a bullet came through her window after several shots were fired.
Dispatchers later were informed by Trumbull Regional Medical Center of a gunshot victim who later was identified by police as Sanchez. Sanchez died at the hospital.
A 2-year-old boy also was treated for a gunshot wound to his hand and was transported to the hospital for a "major" injury, leading to the child-endangering charge.
Jenkins is set for arraignment next week before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew D. Logan.
