WHAT: Board of education meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: President Tony Perrone, Vice President Mary Ann McMahon, Kimberly Barrell, Christopher Chieffo and Michele Lamb
The board:
• Approved the establishment of a severance fund in accordance to Ohio Revised Code section 5705.13 (B).
• Approved the establishment of a capital projects fund in accordance to Ohio Revised Code section 5705.13(C).
• Approved the retirement of Janice Semple, an LPN at Niles Middle School, effective Jan. 2, 2024.
• Hired William Pepper as a bus mechanic at step 7 of the pay scale effective Oct. 16.
• Hired Tina Bellino as a substitute cafeteria helper, substitute administrative assistant and substitute educational aide on an as needed basis for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
• Granted a one-year personal service contract to Joseph Malys as a girls basketball assistant at 12% of the base salary.
• Granted a one-year personal service contract to Marcinde' North as a girls varsity basketball assistant at 12% of the base salary.
• Granted a one-year personal service contract to Erilynn Stevens at a girls varsity basketball assistant at 12% of the base salary.
• Granted a one-year personal service contract to Hannah Baird as a girls softball junior varsity coach at 8% of the base salary.
• Approved a two-year Drone Racing League participation agreement between Niles City Schools and the Trumbull County Educational Service center, and a sub grant of $1,000 to defray the cost of the team coach, Lauren Patton, and all necessary equipment.
