MASURY -- A Pennsylvania teenager turned himself over to authorities to face charges in a July 9 shooting along the Ohio-Pennsylvania line.
Detective Sgt. Aaron Kasiewicz of the Brookfield Township Police Department said the 16-year-old from Farrell faces second-degree felonious assault with firearm specifications and was transported Thursday afternoon to the Trumbull County Juvenile Detention Center.
The shooting occurred in the 800 block of North Stateline Road along the border of Trumbull and Mercer counties.
Kasiewicz said the shooting of a 23-year-old Sharon, Pa., man happened after an argument started between a group parked alongside the Ohio side and three people walking on the Pennsylvania side.
When the group inside the car stepped out, the argument escalated, resulting in the shooting that sent the man to the hospital, where Kasiewicz said he had to undergo reconstructive surgery to repair the damage to his arm.
