WARREN -- Four co-defendants were arraigned Thursday on charges of third-degree burglary of a mobile home in Warren Township. Warren Municipal Court Judge Thomas Gysegem said each defendant could face between nine and 36 months in prison if convicted.
Shawn Bailey, 31, of North River Road NW; Kalyn Brown, 35, of Old Oak Drive; Ja Juan Martin, 27, of Douglas Street NW and James Serbin, 31, of Kuszmaul Avenue NW, appeared via video from the Trumbull County jail to formally hear the charges against them.
All four pleaded not guilty. All were issued no-contact orders with the victim.
Police were dispatched Wednesday afternoon on a call of a burglary in progress at the Horvath Mobile Home Park in the 100 block of North River Road NW. A witness told police that one of the men entered one trailer, then another.
Police arrested the four defendants at the scene.
Warren Township police were assisted by Howland Township police department on the call.
Two of the defendants were on probation for prior offenses. Brown previously had failed to appear in court for misdemeanor petty theft charge. Serbin was on probation for domestic violence and will face a probation violation hearing in addition to a hearing on the newly obtained burglary offense.
The judge revoked bond for the pair while the other two defendants were given a bond set at $7,500.
