The board:

•   Approved placing two renewal levies on the November ballot. One is a renewal of a five-year emergency operating levy and the other is renewal of a 0.90-mill permanent improvement levy. Treasurer Maureen Lloyd said the permanent improvement levy generates $155,000 annually for general improvements and the emergency operating levy generates $839,531 and was originally passed in November 2016;

•   Approved Thomas Zetts on a two-year contact as assistant high school principal at $81,984 from Aug. 1 to July 31, 2025;

•   Approved Todd Smith on a one-year limited contract as dean of students for grades 7 and 8, athletic director and teacher on special assignment at $71, 873;

•   Hired Gabrielle Sandy, music teacher, $50,651; Nicholas Vitale, language arts 10th grade, $42,328; Angela Savinda, integrated math teacher $61,193; Alyssa Jones, language arts seventh grade, $36,588; Cassandra Hosom, intervention specialist, $38,490; and Kabira Zerdaaoui, French teacher, $48,003;

•   Accepted the resignation of Akesha Joseph as high school principal for personal reasons effective July 31;

•   Approved an agreement with Terri Tripodi for educational management information services for July 1 to June 30, 2024, at $34 per hour;

•   Hired Tina Havaich as intervention assistant at $17.87 per hour, replacing Tyler Cecil who resigned;

•   Received notification that Akron Children's Hospital will not provide nursing services. The board hired Elizabeth Banks, a registered nurse, at $49,906;

•   Approved an agreement with Cadence Care Network for social work services and behavioral heath support at $48,000;

•   Accepted a donation from the Liberty High School Sports Hall of Fame at $3,495 for the elementary school playground;

•   Approved an agreement with the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio to participate in the Ohio Materials Matter K-8 math implementation cohort to help increase student access to instructional materials at $5,000.
