WHAT: Trustees meetings June 27 and July 11
TRUSTEES: Mike Hovis, Bob McBride and Mike Morrelli
Trustees:
• Reported Shelley and Sands in August will pave Quail Run, Deer Creek Run, Ivy Hill Run north and south and Millennium Boulevard. Hovis said Foust Excavating will do a culvert replacement first on Quail Run before paving;
• Heard from resident Ted Mansfield of Deer Creek Run, of concerns with a brush fire and logs rolling into the creek from a property behind him on Timber Creek Drive. He asked if the logs can be removed because they were moved there while the fire department was battling the brush fire. Mansfield said he is concerned with flooding of the creek:
• Heard from fire Chief Thomas Rink that the township borrowed an ambulance from Mecca Fire Department for additional coverage of the township during the Trumbull County Fair;
• Heard from Zoning Inspector Pete Pizzulo that the zoning commission is planning to hold a meeting on solar-powered farms;
• Hired William Brewer as a probationary firefighter / paramedic at $20.20 per hour, Kyle Stern as probationary part-time firefighter / paramedic on an as-needed basis at $16 per hour and Cody Bartholomew as a probationary part-time firefighter / EMT on an as-needed basis at $13 per hour, all effective July 9;
• Declared property at 339 Johnson Plank Road in violation of zoning for trash and debris on the property;
• Approved repainting the lines on Millennium Boulevard from Elm Road to the new pavement area at $6,582. The township is responsible for $4,555. Work will be done by American Roadway Logistics;
• Announced Trumbull County commissioners will hold a public hearing 7 p.m. Aug. 3 on the Elm Road waterline project;
• Decided to hold only one meeting per month at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month;
• Announced a school supply collection will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 2 at Walmart along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
