FIRST SUNDAY SPEAKER: First Presbyterian Church will have guest speaker Dr. Anthony Montevideo at 11:15 a.m. Sunday. Montevideo is a case manager with Niles Treatment Services, Pinnacle Treatment Services.
The event is an addiction awareness program. He will educate those with Substance Use Disorder and assist in giving individual's hope on their recovery journey and address the issue of "stigma" involved with those individuals diagnosed.
HONOR MOTHERS: Mothers will be honored with prayer services in the chapels of the Youngstown Diocesan Cemeteries at 10 a.m. May 13. Families will receive a flower that will be blessed and placed in front of the Blessed Mother Statue in remembrance of mothers.

WOMEN'S WEEKEND: Trinity Baptist Church, 235 Highland Ave. SW, Warren, will host Women's Weekend May 20 and 21. CONCERT SET: Arts on Atlantic, the concert series of Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, in Warren, will host the Westminster College Concert Handbell Choir at 7 p.m. May 15. This will be the final concert of the series this season. The choir will present "Despite The Storm -- a reflection of hope, perseverance and resilience."
The Westminster College Concert Bell Choir has appeared on Public Television's "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" and several holiday broadcasts of the "Today" show, including one in which NBC television personalities Katie Couric and Willard Scott joined the ensemble.

BENEFIT CONCERT: St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, will host a concert featuring Maureen Collins at 1 p.m. Sunday. A dinner to benefit Soles of Luv will take place.
ANNIVERSARY SET: First Baptist Church, 1300 Cedar St. SW, Braceville, will mark its 100th anniversary Aug. 26 and 27 with a celebratory banquet at Aulizio's Banquet Center Aug. 26. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at the church on Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m. or from any First Baptist member.
HYMN SING: The Community Concert Series at Boardman United Methodist Church will host the Youngstown hymn sing to benefit the SMARTS program in Youngstown. The free community event will be at 2 pm. Sunday at the church, 6809 Market St., Youngstown.

FRIENDSHIP DAY: Church Women United in Youngstown is hosting its May Friendship Day at 10:30 a.m. May 20 at Western Resrve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road. The theme is "Labor of Love: A Heart for Care." There is a $15 donation.
SOUND THERAPY: The Unity Spiritual Centre, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will offer Sound Therapy sessions at 7 p.m. May 17. The sound therapy is used for balance and healing. Bring pillows and blankets if desired.
SPRING HYMN SING: Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2742 North Road NE, Warren, will host a spring hymn sing 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 20 around a campfire with a cookout.
MISSION TRIP: Champion Presbyterian Church, Mahoning Avenue, will have a presentation on the mission trip taken by members to South Africa at 10 a.m. Sunday. Four of the members will be presenting the organization called Lydia's Mission.
CLERGY MEET: The Clergy Faith Leaders will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Churchill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill Hubbard Road. The speaker will be Louis Fields, outreach manager.
FOOD PANTRY: Harvest Point Church, 2121 Salt Springs Road, Lordstown, will conduct its monthly food pantry distribution 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. May 17. No identification is necessary.
BLESSING OF BABIES: Second Baptist Church "A House of Hope," 1510 Main Ave. SW in Warren, will host its annual citywide baby blessing and shower at 10 a.m. May 28. The annual event was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic but is being revived to serve the families of Warren and surrounding communities.
During the morning worship service, Pastor Todd Johnson will offer prayer and blessing over babies and children up to age 5. Parents will receive a blessing certificate and have an opportunity to take a family photo. Children between the ages of 2 and 5 will receive gift bags.
After the service, a citywide baby shower will be hosted by first lady Shameika Johnson and the ladies of Second Baptist for expectant parents and parents of babies up to 1 year. Attendees of the baby shower will have the opportunity to enjoy food, activities, receive a family care package and be entered into raffles for various prizes. LABYRINTH RETURNS: The Ursuline Education and Wellness Center, 4280 Shields Road, soon begins its 13th year of labyrinth walks. While the labyrinth is open year-round, themed and guided labyrinth walks are offered by trained facilitators during the warm-weather season. Each walk is led by a facilitator, either an Ursuline Sister or associate, with the meditation centering on a related theme. This year's overarching theme is "Compassion, a virtue central to the programs of Ursuline Sisters Mission." All people of faith are invited to these free, weather-permitting events. Walks last about a half hour.
This year's schedule is: 2 p.m. May 21: Compassion as a Way of Life. The labyrinth is open dawn to dusk. There is no cost to use the labyrinth, which is handicapped- accessible with ample parking. Printed guides are provided at the labyrinth's entrance giving suggestions for following the path, but there is no right or wrong way to experience the sacred walk.
