WHAT: Board of education meeting May 17.
PRESENT: Sam Caputo, Cheryl Basista, Joshua Garris, Tim Gleason and Mark Bodo
The board:
• Approved girls wrestling as an official varsity and junior varsity sport beginning in the 2023-24 school year;
• Approved adopting dyslexia intervention and supports as an official board policy;
• Approved hiring Monique Buckner as an intervention specialist for the 2023-24 school year;
• Approved continuing the supplemental contract of Amy Harrison as the girls varsity basketball coach for the 2023-24 school year;
• Approved continuing the supplemental contact of Eric Harper as the boys varsity basketball coach for the 2023-24 school year;
• Amended the retirement date of Connie Mariana from May 31 to Sept. 30;
• Accepted the resignation of intervention specialist Mary Schultz effective May 31;
• Hired John Grazier as a custodian effective June 1;
• Hired Daniel Dowdy as a substitute custodian for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
