WHAT: Village council meeting Thursday
PRESENT: Ray Lewis, Kyle Joynes, Kerry Rickard, Chad Jones, John Metzinger and Mayor Glenn Pucket
ABSENT: Shawn Schmidt
Council:
• Increased the pay for patrolmen from $22 to $26 per hour and for part-time police officers from $12 to $18 per hour in order to attract more employees for the police department;
• Approved the use of Woodland Park grounds June 28 to July 1 for the annual Firefighters Festival with parade, rides, games and food;
• Reported the McDonald High School National Honor Society is raising money for "Welcome to McDonald" signs for the village;
• Announced Memorial Day service is 1 p.m. Sunday at the war memorial in the park;
• Set summer meetings at 6 p.m. June 21, July 19 and Aug. 16 with committee meetings set for 6 p.m. June 20, July 18 and Aug. 15.
