WHAT: Township trustee meeting Monday
PRESENT: Dan Suttles, Mark Ferrara and Shannon Devitz
Trustees:
• Announced that Memorial Day ceremony will be 10 a.m. May 29 at the cemetery
followed by the dedication of a veterans' bridge on Warren Sharon Road, east of Yankee Run Golf Course, as Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge.
The renaming of the bridge would honor Marine Lance Cpl. McArthur Coleman; Army Staff Sgt. Martin Walker Jr.; and Army Pfc. Paul E. Good;
• Announced volunteers are needed for placing veteran flags at the cemetery 9 a.m. May 20;
• Reported that the columbariium sales at the cemetery have generated $67,500;
• Heard from Road Supervisor Jamie Fredenberg that the R-cut project on a section of U.S. Route 62 has begun with a section of the road closed near Hubbard Thomas Road;
• Reported that Aqua Ohio will be doing waterline replacements on Boyd, Ulp, Davis, Fern, Hazelton, and Ira streets with work to be done by end of June;
• Announced scrap tire collection will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at township garage;
• Hired Brookfield Truck and Trailer to replace the transmission on the dump
truck estimated at $11,960;
• Hired Tod Connolly as a volunteer trainee for the fire department.
