Warren blaze kills one

WARREN -- One person died in a fire in Warren Township on Tuesday night.
Crews responded to reports of the fire at a home on Layer Road about 10:45 p.m.
The fatality was confirmed by Andy Ellinger, a spokesman with the State Fire Marshal's Office. The identity of the person has not been released.
The state office is investigating to determine the fire's origin.
The severe nature of the burns made it hard to identify of the victim, according to Trumbull County Coroner Lawrence D'Amico.
He said a determination will come from X-rays during an autopsy on Friday to provide a "definitive identification" of the victim.
A neighbor was hospitalized after falling while watching the fire.
According to the Warren Township Fire Department, the call for the fire coincided with an EMS call that already was in progress with crews assisting in the neighborhood of Brookside.
Despite being delayed, crews arrived at the house fire after only eight minutes from the time they were notified, a report states.
As firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, a person was discovered deceased in the home.
Multiple fire departments offered assistance: Newton Falls, Champion Township, Lordstown, Braceville and Southington, plus the Warren Township and Lordstown police departments.
