NILES -- A Vienna man faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon and aggravated menacing after he is accused of threatening two women with a gun at a Niles gas station late Wednesday.
Joshua M. Ocheltree, 35, of North Outer Drive, on Thursday was arraigned in Niles Municipal Court. He is in custody in the Trumbull County jail, according to reports.
At 11:18 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Niles police report, two women told officers a man in red pickup truck threatened them as they were pulling into the parking lot of the Country Fair on Youngstown-Warren Road. They were almost struck by the pickup that was backing out of a spot.
The man exited the truck and told the women he would beat them up and shoot them, including the husband of one woman, the report states.
The man was described as wearing flannel and a hat. An employee at the gas station told police he saw the incident and the man leave in the truck.
Vienna police officers later conducted a traffic stop of the pickup at state Route 193 and Warren Sharon Road. They detained the driver, identified as Ocheltree, who admitted he was involved in the incident with the women in Niles, the report states
Niles police later placed Ocheltree under arrest and found a 9mm handgun with a gold slide inside the truck.
Niles court records show Ocheltree had pleaded not guilty to the charges and bond was set at $100,000.
A pretrial hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. May 10 in Judge Christopher Shaker's court.
