WHAT: Board of Education meeting March 15
PRESENT: Ronda Bonekovic, Melissa Sydlowski, Sarah Kurpe, Derek Mihalcin and Jerry Necastro
The board:
• Approved a three-year agreement with Brookfield Township for a school resource officer effective July 1 to June 2026. Cost is $66,552 the first year, $68,267 the second year and $69,972 the third year;
• Heard from Mihalcin, who asked if the assistant soccer coach positions could be paid as opposed to volunteer in order to help build soccer into a program instead of just a team;
• Accepted the retirement of Debra Zebroski, educational aide, effective May 19;
• Approved an agreement with Youngstown State University for the College Credit-Plus program for high school students for the 2023-24 year;
• Received donations of steel for the Maker Space room from Thomas Steel Strip Corp. and Youngstown Pipe and Steel;
• Entered into a mowing maintenance agreement with T&D Landscape and Lawn Care through March 31, 2024, at $34,960.
