WHAT: Township trustee meeting April 4
PRESENT: Mark Webb, Ramon French and Jim Cicchillo
Trustees:
• Heard from fire Chief Steve Craiger about storm damage to the fire station. A center ridge cap on the roof was blown off and needs replaced. Also, the station's front electronic sign was destroyed.
Fire crews responded to more than 30 storm-related calls;
• Heard from Road Supervisor Greg Maraczi about working on storm cleanup at the cemeteries. Webb said a tree company can be hired if needed;
• Hired Jeff Smith as a part-time employee for the summer at $11 per hour;
• Heard from Cicchillo about speaking with Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership for money to renovate 4873 state Route 45. Cicchillo said if unable to secure funds, the township would tear house down;
• Heard from Webb who did research on Bowers Cemetery and received an opinion from the prosecutor's office that the township can't give the cemetery back. He said plans are to move forward with getting the quotes for the fence;
• Were informed that Webb will contact Ohio Edison regarding leaning poles on Route 45 south of Housel Craft, and north of Nelson Lane.
• Heard from Craiger on what would constitute opening the administration building for a warming center. Trustees said they would definitely do this if needed;
• Announced a public meeting will be held April 18 to discuss adding the Youngstown Air Reserve Station information to the comprehensive plan;
• Reported about the zoning department sending notices out about junk cars being removed. If nothing is done, second notices go out, then the matter is taken to court.
