WHAT: Township trustee meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Mike Hovis, Mike Morrelli and Bob McBride

Trustees:

• Heard from fire Chief Tom Rink the township received a $6,462 check from Norfolk Southern for assisting at the train derailment in East Palestine.

• Accepted a letter of retirement intent from fire Capt. Mike Mannella;

• Accepted a quote of $4,378 from Vasu Communications for a Kenwood base radio, power, supply, antenna and installation. Ohio Township Association Risk Management Authority will reimburse the township $1,000 bringing cost to $3,378;

• Reported the zoning commission held a work session to discuss the Youngstown Air Reserve Station overlay, which is under review. The commission has also received revision of language from attorney Cherry Poteet regarding gun ranges, breweries, fireworks and explosives with a meeting to be scheduled for review;

• Announced the scrap tire collection being 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through April 30 at the road department, 2211 state Route 305;

• Announced police will hold a drug takeback from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 22 at the police station. No needles or liquids will be accepted;

• Announced the Coffee with the Crew is held 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the fire department for the public spend time with firefighters;

• Announced the park is open and reservations are being taken for the shelters and gazebo at bazettatwp.org and park tab;

• Announced Safety Day will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 3 at Trumbull County fairgrounds.
