WARREN -- Separate shootings Sunday left a 43-year-old woman dead and a 2-year-old child shot in the hand.
A news release from the Warren Police Department said the first shooting Sunday occurred about 12:30 a.m. at the Hampshire House Apartments. While on the scene, dispatchers told officers a gunshot victim was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
The female victim was identified as Ruby Sanchez, 43, who died from her injuries.
Detective Michael Altiere is the lead investigator. People with information in this case can call Altiere at 330-841-2749.
Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Lawrence D'Amico confirmed he also is investigating the death of Sanchez. The body, though, was taken to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office.
A police report showed officers responded to the Hamphire House after someone reported a bullet came through her window after several shots were fired.
INJURED CHILD
In the second shooting, the 2-year-old child, who was not identified in a news release, was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center, where officers were called about 9:25 p.m.
While at the hospital, Ke'Vonna Marion, 23, of Martin Street, was arrested on a child endangering charge. A report states Marion was booked into the Trumbull County jail shortly before 10 p.m.
Marion will be arraigned today before Warren Municipal Judge Terry Ivanchak.
A second warrant for child endangering has been issued for Jamarr Jenkins, 19, of Kenmore Avenue SE. No other details were provided about the child's injury.
