BAZETTA — The Southington post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle that occurred about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday on Durst Clagg Road near state Route 305.

Killed was Marc A. Jones, 56, of Cortland, who was riding a 2000 Harley-Davidson FLTS. He was thrown from the northbound motorcycle after he lost control trying to stop behind a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox that had slowed to turn into a driveway, according to the patrol.

The motorcycle traveled left of center and overturned, a report states. Jones was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren, where he later died.

The driver of the Equinox, Rebecca R. Check, 60, of Warren, was not injured.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation, according to the patrol.
