WARREN -- Warren Municipal Court Assistant Prosecutor Nick Graham, who worked 21 years in the role, has been fired.
A termination letter was sent to Graham from Law Director Enzo Cantalamessa.
On Tuesday, Cantalamessa said, "The law department has decided to move in a different direction."
The letter states Graham can pick up his personal items at the city's operations department, and that his services are "no longer required."
His termination comes about a month after Graham was involved in an Aug. 7 fight at his Fairway Drive NE home that injured him and his son during a 19th birthday party.
Speaking to police, Graham said when a group of uninvited men showed up to the party, they were told to leave, but refused, leading to a shoving match that turned into a fight.
According to police body camera footage, officers observed what was described as "a lot of underage drinking."
One man was arrested at Graham's home after police were called to investigate. As Graham's son tried to break up the fight, he was struck in the head and cut with a bottle, the police report states.
Initially Graham was on unpaid sick leave that lasted Aug. 1 to 14. He was placed on unpaid administrative leave Aug. 15. He started in the position in January 2001.
Graham declined to comment Tuesday, except to say he would be releasing a statement in the near future.
A Lowellville man, Ryan Boano, 18, of Struthers Road, pleaded not guilty to a felonious assault charge in municipal court as a result of the incident. He posted a $5,000 bond and was ordered not to have contact with the victims or the property where the assault took place.
Boano is due in court for a hearing Sept. 22.
