WARREN -- A former worker at a Convenient Food Mart is accused of taking $8,455 in lottery tickets from the store between July 25, 2021, and Feb. 4, 2022, according to a Warren police report.

Lisa Johnson, 31, of Elm Road NE, Warren, had a pretrial hearing Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. Prosecutors said restitution issues are being worked out so a plea deal can be arranged with Johnson and her public defender.

Johnson faces a charge of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony that carries a prison term of six to 18 months if she is convicted.

A Feb. 22 complaint from an employee at the store on Elm Road near Larchmont Avenue NE accused Johnson of the theft. The report also accused the worker of using her Ohio EBT card for customers, taking money out of the cash register drawer for herself and giving away merchandise.

Johnson, who is free on bond, is expected back in court Sept. 12.
