WARREN -- A former Warren defense attorney is wanted on a Warren Municipal Court bench warrant after failing to appear Tuesday morning to answer a misdemeanor charge of permitting drug abuse.
Municipal Judge Terry F. Ivanchak issued the warrant for the arrest of Maridee Costanzo, 64, of Genesee Avenue NE.
Costanzo was to appear for arraignment on a first-degree misdemeanor after she was issued a criminal summons on Monday night, when paramedics were called to her home to treat a drug overdose victim.
Officers charged Costanzo after they checked the call history at the address and found four prior overdoses in the last three months.
The overdose victim was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Costanzo lost her law license after she was convicted in a plot to kill her husband and served eight years in federal prison. In 2017, Costanzo was sent to state prison for her role in a theft ring in Geauga County.
