WARREN -- Police detectives are investigating the shooting of a 12-year-old boy at a home in the 400 block of Martin Drive SW.
Officers were called to the home to investigate the shooting about 12:41 a.m. Saturday. They found the boy, who had major injuries according to a police report, had already been taken to the hospital.
Some officers stayed at the home to gather evidence, while others went to the hospital to interview a witness who was identified as a 42-year-old woman. The report states the woman gave a statement to police.
At the scene, police collected a pistol and one shell casing, the report states.
The report, which notes the case is being investigated as child endangering, does not give any more information about the condition of the victim or what type of gunshot wound he received.
Neither police Chief Eric Merkel nor detectives responded to emails seeking comment about the case Monday.
