Ex-husband pleads to menacing charge
WARREN — A Kinsman man accused of menacing his ex-wife pleaded guilty Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to one felony charge of menacing by stalking.
Christopher L. Mueller, 41, of Golf Drive, will be sentenced by Judge Ronald J. Rice after he undergoes a background report compiled by county probation officers.
One additional count of menacing by stalking and two counts of violating a protection order were dropped by prosecutors in exchange for Mueller’s guilty plea. The defendant could face as many as 18 months in prison.
The case was investigated in October 2021 by Vienna police, records show. Prosecutors said Mueller is accused of a pattern of conduct against his former spouse that included threatening text messages, a GPS tracker put in the woman’s vehicle and trespassing on her property.
Mueller, who admitted to a 1999 felony conviction in Texas, was picked up on a warrant Jan. 6. He had his request for reinstatement of bond denied by Rice and remains in the county jail.
