The number of COVID-19 cases in Ohio rose by 42,972 last week, which is about 5,200 cases fewer than the number of cases one week earlier.
The state had 53,344 cases the week ending Sept. 11, which was the peak number in Ohio since Jan. 16.

Locally, Trumbull County's 757 additional cases last week was 45 more cases than the county had the previous week.
Mahoning County's 1,001 new cases last week was 25 more cases than the county had the week before.
Columbiana County's 638 additional cases last week is 120 more than the county had the week before.
Deaths rose by eight in Trumbull County last week to 516. Deaths rose by six last week to 643 in Mahoning County, and they rose by three in Columbiana County.
Deaths across the state rose by 349 last week to 21,820.
Cases in Trumbull County rose by 130 Saturday compared to Friday, 148 in Mahoning County on Saturday compared to Friday and 84 in Columbiana County on Saturday compared to Friday.
