Two killed in Warren crash

Driver pronounced dead at scene of single-car accident

WARREN -- Two people have died from a one-car crash Sunday morning at the intersection of Bonnie Brae Avenue and Youngstown Road SE.

Warren police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Warren Post are investigating the 3 a.m. crash that killed driver Teresa Cherry, 34, of Cleveland, who used to live at a Belmont Avenue NW, Warren, address; and Daryl T. McBride Jr., 38, of Charlotte, N.C., who also lists a Palmyra Road SW, Warren, address.

A Warren police report states that the 2000 Toyota driven by Cherry was traveling east on Youngstown Road and lost control before striking a utility pole and fire hydrant at the intersection.

According to the Trumbull County 911 report, the women in the vehicle was not breathing and had a neck injury.

Warren police and firefighters along with the patrol closed several blocks of Youngstown Road between East Avenue and Laird Avenue while they worked to get the driver out of the vehicle, who was then pronounced dead at the scene.

Reports indicate that McBride was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries and later died.

Reports indicate the Toyota had flipped over and sustained major damage.

Warren received assistance from Howland and Niles police.

The Trumbull County Coroner's Office reported that the autopsy of the two victims took place Tuesday in Cuyahoga County and causes of death for both are pending the completion of the coroner's report.
