WARREN -- Police officers locked down a block on the city's southeast side for a few hours Tuesday evening after police reports showed gunfire between two homes in the 2100 block of Milton Street SE.
No one was reported hurt, but two Milton Street men were charged in the incident.
Malachi H. Jones, 20, 2119 Milton St. SE, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of felonious assault and discharging a firearm into a habitation. Warren Municipal Judge Terry Ivanchak set Jones' bond at $300,000 and issued a no-contact order with the victims in the case.
A preliminary hearing for Jones is set for 1:30 p.m. May 20 before Judge Ivanchak. Jail records showed Jones remained incarcerated in Trumbull County jail Wednesday evening.
A police officer was on patrol about 7:15 p.m. when he heard numerous shots fired near the intersection of Milton and Hazelwood SE, the report states. It was determined the shots came from the home of 2119 Milton St. and were fired toward the home at 2091 Milton, the report states.

During a sweep of 2119 Milton, officers found three possible suspects, as well as shell casings on the front porch and inside the house in a toilet, the report states.
Two bullet holes were found through the siding and windows of the home just west of 2119 Milton. It was determined no one was at that home.
One of the officers knocked on the back door of 2119 Milton and talked to two men in the house, both saying they did not know about a woman running from the house.
As officers waited for a search warrant, a large crowd started gathering at the scene. The road near the two homes involved was blocked by a police cruiser.
During this time, a man arrived at Milton and Hazelwood and started yelling toward victims at 2091 Milton, who were standing outside. The man kept trying to get them to come over and fight, yelling threats and cursing at the victims, the report states. When the man made a move toward the victims, the report states, he was taken into custody on charges of misconduct at an emergency and disorderly conduct.
Jail records showed 42-year-old Mario D. Patterson, of 2058 Milton SE, was released from Trumbull County jail at 9:32 p.m. Tuesday after posting a $1,000 bond. However, Patterson did not appear for arraignment Wednesday morning before Judge Ivanchak, who issued a warrant for his arrest.
The 2119 Milton home was searched, the report states, and officers found a loaded .40-caliber Smith and Wesson semiautomatic handgun with an extended magazine. Police found more ammunition in a dining room hutch drawer and in a safe in a bedroom. Another handgun, a Glock seminautomatic, was located in the basement hidden on top of an air duct, the report states.
