WARREN -- A Youngstown man on Thursday received a nine-month prison term after pleading guilty to a charge of receiving stolen property from an incident in Howland.
Brandon M. Faunda, 20, of 2717 Youngstown Hubbard Road, opted for the immediate sentence from Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald J. Rice, rather than undergoing a presentence background report by the adult probation department.
Faunda was charged in a Nov. 12, 2020, incident in Howland Township where a man wearing a blue hoodie was going around a Howland neighborhood knocking on doors in the early morning hours and asking for money. The man claimed his car had broken down.
At one residence, he was accused of breaking a brick off a wall decoration and throwing it a front door. He also was accused of looking into the windows of parked vehicles in the neighborhoods in the Castle Rock and Anderson Avenue NE area.
Howland police chased the man through several back yards before he was arrested.
Also, Faunda is scheduled Monday for a plea hearing before Judge Peter J. Kontos on a burglary charge from a Hubbard incident.
