HOWLAND -- The two people found dead Friday evening in a home on the 8600 block of Howland Springs Road SE have been identified by the Howland Police Department.
Autopsies were performed Wednesday on Amy M. Hornbeck, 44, and Ross W. Blair, 43.
The Trumbull County Coroner's forensic investigator, Kathy Meszaros, said the causes of death for both will not be released until after toxicology reports are completed.
Meszaros said that could take up to six weeks or more.
According to the township police report, officers were dispatched about 6:20 p.m. Friday to the Howland Springs Road address. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with Howland Fire Department medics who already confirmed the deaths of the two inside the residence. The bodies were found in a bedroom by a concerned friend, the report states.
Officers at the scene said they found two black small plastic bags with white residue, a hotel card key with a cut straw, a lottery ticket folded with gray powder, unknown orange filler and a red cellphone with black case.
Assistant township police Chief Jeff Urso said drugs may have been involved in the deaths.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been called to help with the investigation.
