WARREN -- Trumbull County Coroner Lawrence D'Amico has identified the victim of a Jan. 30 shooting death at 243 Forest St. NW as 23-year-old Kyree Christopher Jones.
D'Amico in a news release Thursday states that Jones died of a gunshot wound to the head.
According to 911 records, a Forest Street woman, 19, came home Saturday morning to find her home ransacked and the homicide victim upstairs, according to police and Trumbull County 911 Center records.
Detectives are investigating the death and reports show no one has been charged or taken into custody.
Warren Safety Service Director Eddie Colbert said the homicide appears to be the first in the city this year. Last year, there were 16 homicides in the city.
A check of Trumbull County jail records shows that Jones had never been incarcerated in the county.
The coroner's office also is investigating the death of 34-year-old Youngstown woman who was found dead shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday at a Kenilworth Avenue SE sober house, according to police reports. The coroner has scheduled an autopsy for Kellie Kristen Kearney of 332 Mistletoe Ave., Youngstown. Police reports suspect drug use, but coroner investigators said it will take at least six weeks for toxicology reports to come back after the autopsy.
