Warren man gets 2 years in prison
WARREN — A Warren man on Monday was given a two-year prison sentence after being convicted of having a weapon as a felon.
Eugene Wallace, 42, 132 Nevada Ave. NW, apologized for his actions before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Peter J. Kontos. The judge said he had no choice because Wallace was not a candidate for probation and his application for the Northeast Ohio Community Alternative Program was refused.
Kontos said the man had two previous prison sentences. The current case involved a man seen with a rife at the corner of West Market Street and Nevada Avenue later identified as Wallace, according to police reports.
