WHAT: Township trustee meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: Ted Webb, Frank Parke and Bob McBride
Trustees:
• Discussed police and road levies that will be coming up for renewal and need to be placed on the November ballot while a fire renewal levy can be placed in 2021. Deadline to place an issue on the November ballot is early August;
• Approved the abatement of weeds and grass at properties declared nuisances with mowing to be done at 1611 Johnson Plank Road, 2227 Cadwallader Sonk Road, and 369 Bianca Lane;
• Entered into a contract with Cody Lawn Service for abatements for the 2020 season at cost not to exceed $5,000;
• Hired David West as a full-time firefighter / medic effective June 28 per the collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Firefighters Local 3703. West has worked part-time for six years;
• Hired Gianfranco Serpone as a part-time firefighter / medic with probationary period of one year at $14 per hour;
• Hired Cole McIssac of Bazetta as a volunteer firefighter with a probationary period of one year non-paid;
• Approved removal of Josh Cleland and Abbie Buday, part-time firefighters/ medics, from the fire department roster;
• Reported the township was able to get two new radiator hoses and a radiator for vehicles from Cerni Motors at $736;
• Canceled the June 23 meeting.
