Woman injured in drive-by shooting

WARREN — One woman was taken to the hospital after she was injured in an apparent drive-by shooting around 7 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Oak Knoll Avenue SE.

Barbara Jean Dyson, 61, was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center after she was shot above her left chest while washing dishes in her kitchen, according to a Trumbull County 911 dispatch call log.

A dispatcher said other reports for shots fired came in from other neighborhoods in the city.

A witness told law enforcement she saw a silver Dodge Caliber or four-door sedan with persons wearing masks who were shooting on Hazelwood Avenue.

At 7:04 p.m., a caller reported someone in a silver truck firing shots in the area of Burton Street SE and Carolina Avenue SE and then leaving, the 911 report states.

A caller on South Feederle Drive SE reported hearing two kinds of shots fired in the area.

A car was shot in the 1400 block of Belvedere Avenue around the same time, causing fuel to leak from the vehicle.

In Liberty, multiple shots were reported in the 2500 block of Cardinal Drive, also just after 7 p.m., although it is unlcear if that incident is related.

Police are investigating.
