By Staff report 1 min read

HOWLAND -- A Warren man died Monday when the vehicle he was driving traveled off the right side of the road and struck a fire hydrant, state patrol troopers said.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Warren Post is investigating the one-vehicle crash in which Valentino Divieste, 82, of Warren, died.

A state patrol report indicates the crash occurred at 12:42 p.m. on Woodhill Drive, south of Howland Wilson Road.

Reports indicate Divieste was driving southbound on Howland Wilson Road, then southbound on Woodhill Drive, in a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The car traveled off the right side of Woodhill Drive, struck a traffic sign and a fire hydrant.

Divieste was transported to Trumbull Regional Medical Center where he later was pronounced dead.

Howland Township Fire Department and the Howland Township Police Department assisted at the crash scene.

Calls of the accident to the 911 center indicated water from the hydrant struck by the vehicle was flooding the area.
