LORDSTOWN — The Lordstown Board of Education at a special meeting Wednesday accepted the resignation of Superintendent Terry Armstrong, effective Feb. 29.
Armstrong, who served the past six years as Lordstown superintendent, has accepted the position of treasurer with Newton Falls school district effective March 1.
Armstrong has said he has a treasurer’s license and through his work as a superintendent is familiar with working with financial matters.
The board met in executive session after the meeting to discuss personnel.
Board President Cheryl Kistler said the board will discuss the next steps to getting a superintendent for the district. Armstrong said he will help the candidate selected to become familiar with the position.
