Fire damages Perkins on Elm Road

BAZETTA — A minor fire broke out at the Perkins Restaurant on Elm Road around 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

The restaurant was evacuated and is expected to be closed for several days due to damage to the roof. Fire Chief Dennis Lewis said damage estimates are between $30,000 and $40,000.

The cause of the fire is unknown and there were no injuries. Lewis said it appears the fire started in the roofline on the building’s east side.

The Howland, Cortland, Champion and Youngstown Air Reserve Station departments assisted Bazetta in putting out the fire.
