WARREN TOWNSHIP -- The identity of the body found in tall grass Tuesday morning on the side of Dover Avenue near Main Avenue SW was that of Becky Jo Easton, 35, according to the Trumbull County Coroner's Office.
An autopsy of Easton began on Wednesday, but results may not be known for a few days, according to a spokeswoman at the coroner's office.
Warren Township police Chief Benjamin Harrell has said police are investigating the death of Easton as suspicious. The Trumbull County Homicide Task Force also is involved in the case.
Authorities said anyone with information should come forward to help determine what happened and how Easton's body ended up in the field.
A passerby spotted the body on his way to work and called police.
Meanwhile, a coroner's office spokeswoman said the autopsy of Timothy Allen Jr., 34, 1584 Ferndale Ave., was completed Wednesday morning, but no results were released.
Allen was found shot to death outside a vehicle on Martin Street early Monday. Officers investigated after a caller said two to three shots were fired about 1:30 a.m. Monday near 599 Lane Drive at the Hampshire House apartments.
The victim of the city's first shooting death of 2020 was Annie Miller, 86, of 366 Douglas St. NW, and city police are still piecing together details of that Jan. 1 slaying.
According to Warren police Lt. Bryan Holmes, supervisor of the investigative unit, toxicology and other reports from the coroner may take up to six weeks, and detectives are still waiting for those in the Miller case.
The coroner's office ruled Miller died of a gunshot wound. She was found on the living room floor of her single-family home just before 1 p.m. Jan. 1 by police officers who went to the house in response to a call from the victim's daughter, Doris Houston.
Police believe the fatal bullet was fired through the home's wooden front door.
