LIBERTY -- A woman walking across state Route 193 near near the Interstate 80 entrance ramp was struck at 8:35 p.m. Thursday by a 2015 Ford Focus driven by a teen girl traveling north near the Interstate 80 overpass.
Shivani Bhatt, of India, was walking east when she crossed the state route. Bhatt was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, where she later died. The driver was not injured in the crash.
The road was closed for approximately three hours; Liberty police and fire departments assisted at the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
