WARREN -- Law Director Gregory V. Hicks, who filed an incomplete pre-primary election campaign finance report to meet the filing deadline, has filed an amended report with the Trumbull County Board of Elections.
The latest report contains the names of and amounts from individual donors from a fundraiser in March that were absent from Thursday's paperwork and other spending and contributions he said he overlooked in his haste to file.
Hicks, 68, Warren's law director for nearly 30 years, reported he had $11,931 in his account entering the election cycle and raised $10,105, all from a fundraiser he had in March.
He loaned his campaign $2,500 in February and spent $22,767, mostly on campaign-related materials and advertising. Left in his account is $1,769.
Hicks is being challenged on Tuesday for the Democratic nomination for the seat by Warren Safety Service Director Enzo Cantalamessa, 45, who has worked in that job under Mayor Doug Franklin for seven years.
Cantalamessa reported he had $4,267 in his account entering the campaign, received $26,125 in contributions, loaned himself $2,000 and spent $20,013. He also reported $4,500 in in-kind contributions and a balance of $17,378. The campaign has $9,000 in outstanding loans.

Trumbull County Family Court Judge Samuel Bluedorn also donated $150.
Hicks also reported three contributions from people he employs -- attorneys Gil Blair, $150; James Sanders, $100; and Patty Knepp, $50.
Hicks was not notified of Thursday's filing deadline by an elections board employee, which is standard practice. Hicks said he was at the board on an unrelated matter Thursday when another candidate filed the campaign paperwork, inquired and discovered he was not on the list of candidates to be notified.
