WHAT: Township trustee meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: John Nemet, Pete Augusta and Doreen Lutz

Trustees:

• Discussed the need to pave roads at West Side Cemetery, St. Michael Cemetery and Lutheran Church Cemetery. Trustees will get cost estimates on the work and also speak to the cemetery associaion about roads in East Side Cemetery;

• Heard from resident Judy Housel about the need for paving the dead-end section of Pritchard Ohltown Road. which is partly in Trumbull and Mahoning counties. Nemet said the project costs wil be split with Milton Township. Residents on the street have said there are 10 homes on that section of the street with three different trash companies collecting trash and backing over and tearing up lawns. Trustees said it would be difficult to have only one trash hauler because two different counties are involved. They will look into the concerns of the lawns being run over;

• Will meet with the county engineer’s office over paving roads at West Side Cemetery, Bright Baldwin, Pritchard Ohltown, Scott and Herbert streets;

• Approved a resolution supporting the Geuaga Trumbull Solid Waste Management District’s 15-year plan;

• Approved submitting an application for a scrap tire grant and set tire collection and spring cleanup 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 4 and 5;

• Are seeking applications from residents for an unexpired term on the zoning commission. Send letters to the fiscal officer or trustees;

• Approved $1,428 to the Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District annual appropriation for services;

• Set pay rates for zoning commission and zoning appeal board members from $30 to $35 per meeting and alternates attending a meeting from $15 to $20;

• Reported Calvetta Brothers was contacted regarding the strips of flooring that are separating in the town hall. There are replacement strips in stock;

• Heard from Lutz the cemetery association is holding a fundraiser dinner April 6 to raise funds for the East Side Cemetery chapel. The association will meet 6 p.m. Thursday at the town hall.
