WHAT: Township trustee meeting Tuesday

Trustees:
• Approved the transfer of $100,000 from the general fund to the cemetery fund to help cover costs for damage at Hillside Cemetery following a tornado on Jan. 8. The money will be paid back to the general fund once insurance money is received;
• Approved purchase of a Kubota tractor, backhoe, loader, thumb kit and subframe at $27,900 from Bortnick Tractor Sales, along with two Stihl hedge trimmers at $1,099 to replace damaged equipment at the cemetery;
• Approved transferring Corey Burns' sick time from the township to the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office, where he is now working;
• Approved fire Chief Dennis Lewis to the Emergency Management Agency board;
• Approved getting four tires for the fire truck from Great Lakes Best One Tire in Girard at $1,655;
• Discussed the need for placing renewal levies for the fire, police and roads on the ballot in the future, but took no action;
• Approved Abigail Buday as a part-time firefighter / medic at $13 per hour on an as-needed basis and on one-year probation;
• Approved Ace Equipment to strip markings and other items from a 2011 Crown Victoria to sell for no less than $500;
• Purchased a new pump from D&T PM and Truck Repair for the dump truck not to exceed $4,000;
• Authorized all shelter / gaezbo income to be placed into a new park account for use for maintenance and operations of Bazetta Township Park and Imagination Station;
• Approved park board officers: Ryan Stowell, chairman; Andrea Drotar, vice chairwoman; and Laura Yarabenetz, secretary;
• Hired John Kennedy as a part-time field training officer upon completion of exams and drug screenings at $8.55 per hour on as-needed basis;
• Purchased 12 tires for the police SUVs from Tire Hub Product through state purchasing at $142 per tire at $1,704.
