NILES — Niles police are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting in which a woman was killed at the Hideaway Lounge Bar and Grill.

Niles police Capt. John Marshall said the suspect, Ryan M. Daniels Sr., 28, of Warren, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of Britney Ann Mazanec, 33, of Niles.

Daniels was charged with reckless homicide with his bond set at $1 million by Judge Christopher Shaker. He was booked before 10 a.m. on the charge into the Trumbull County Jail.

Reports indicate police were called out after 2:30 a.m. in reference to a woman shot at the bar, located off U.S. Route 422. The victim later died from her injuries.

Marshall said investigators are gathering information on what led up to the shooting. He does not know the connection between Mazanec and Daniels.

Trumbull County Jail reports indicate Daniels previously was arrested in June 2017 on child endangering charges in Warren Municipal Court. He also faced charges in 2016 on drug possession. Between 2009 and 2011, he faced several charges on carrying concealed weapons.

Daniels is scheduled to appear today in Niles Municipal Court.
