Woman shot in leg at Howland home

HOWLAND — Police have caught one suspect and are looking for more after a woman was shot in Howland Friday evening.

Investigators said the woman, identified in a Trumbull County 911 call log as Shonda Owens, 35, of Warren, was shot in the leg around 6:30 p.m. outside a house in the 200 block of Shaffer Drive, near Howland High School. Police set up a perimeter and used K-9 officers to look for the people involved.

They were able to find one person of interest at the Capri Motel. The suspect is identified in the 911 report as Jeremiah U. Jones, 18, of Warren. He is being held at the Trumbull County Jail without bond on a warrant out of Warren Municipal Court on a charge of aggravated robbery from November 2017, according to jail records.

Police said they’re still looking for one or two more suspects.
