WARREN -- A Warren man faces murder and aggravated robbery charges in connection to the case of a Youngstown man shot to death whose body was found in April in a car parked outside Candlelight apartments on North Road.
Trint N. Cellars, 21, of the 4800 block of Woodrow Avenue, was indicted Tuesday by a Trumbull County grand jury. Court records show Cellars will be arraigned Sept. 11 by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald J. Rice.
The indictment states both felony charges include firearm specifications that would each carry mandatory three-year prison sentences if Cellars is found guilty.
Trumbull County Jail records show Cellars has been held there on other charges out of Warren Municipal Court since May 31.
The latest case against Cellars is connected to the death of William Anderson, 63, 2404 Ohio Ave., Youngstown, who, according to Warren police reports, was found shot to death about 10 p.m. April 25 sitting in a car parked outside Candlelight apartments off Harvard Drive SE.
Anderson died of one gunshot wound that traveled through the neck, chest and abdomen, according to an autopsy report by the Trumbull County Coroner's office. He was the victim of the city's first homicide of 2017.
Police officers found Anderson slumped over the steering wheel of his black Ford Taurus that was parked outside the apartment complex, the report states. A passerby called 911 to report he saw a car with the passenger door open. The caller told the dispatcher the man had blood in his mouth and was unresponsive, according to a police report.
Warren Municipal Court records show Cellars pleaded guilty June 15 to theft and receiving stolen property charges that are not related to the murder case. Cellar received a six-month jail term.
